Built by a trader who got tired of himself

Your strategy is ready. But is your mind? The trading psychology journal for MT4 & MT5 — it writes itself, then keeps you honest.

Most of us don’t blow up because the strategy was wrong. We blow up because we’re human. QuantumLog writes your trading journal for you in real time — and interrupts you with guardrails that pull you out of a spiral before it empties the account.

If any of this is you

You’ve widened a stop to avoid being wrong.

You’ve taken a trade out of boredom and called it a setup.

You’ve turned a green day red by 5pm because your finger got twitchy.

You’ve kept clicking after a loss to “make it back.”

Then you already know the problem isn’t your strategy or indicators.

Every trading journal on the market shows you what you traded. None of them deal with the version of you that took the trade. That’s the whole game. That’s what I built this for.

The story

My name is Ashwin Kumar. I’m 41, a husband and a father, and I’m still failing at trading. Three years in. It’s like a freaking addiction I couldn’t leave.

For years I said trading was gambling, a sham. Then I took a home loan, my wife kept nudging me to look into it, and one day I got pulled in. The only saving grace: at 41, with a kid and an EMI eating half my salary, I had a bit more maturity than a 22-year-old torching a $10k account. I played small. But the intensity — the why I needed this — was fking sharp.

And then it started. Demand and supply, Ichimoku, Alligator, Bollinger, ICT, pivots, options Greeks, volume profile, 200 SMA, 9-21 EMA, ORB — I jumped from one branch to the next like a monkey. It was always the strategy’s fault. Never mine.

I lost $3,000 of my own money. A thousand of it a refinanced personal loan — taking a loan to trade is the absolute low. I watched my family carry my decisions. That’s a specific kind of pain I won’t dress up.

So I stopped trading my own money and found prop firms. Someone else’s money — I can take any risk. LaLa land. I blew another $3,000 in two years. Once blew an evaluation in fifteen minutes. I was an addict monkey clicking for treats.

Here’s the part that stings: my reads were getting good. I’d catch real bangers and then kill the account by a thousand cuts. If I’d just sat on my hands, I’d have had a payout long ago. I still don’t.

Mindfulness worked — until I traded. That’s when I knew I had to throw a mirror at myself, and that willpower was never coming to save me. I’m a PM — 14 years building digital products — and the one thing I know is you don’t will people into good behavior. You design the environment so the right thing is the easy thing. So I stopped trying to out-willpower myself and started building cages.

(Yes, I vibe-coded it with Claude. No regrets. Don’t ask me a technical question — I’ll fail miserably. What I won’t fail at is shipping a classy product that actually gets the problem, because I am the problem it solves. And I’m not here to please anyone. I built this for me.)

The cages I built

I didn’t build features. I built cages.

I’m a PM — 14 years of it. I know you can’t will yourself into good behavior; you design the environment so the right thing is the easy thing. So I mapped exactly where I kept hurting myself: before a trade, during it, and after. Then I built a cage for each one. (First, though, I had to actually see what I was doing.)

The art of no

Trading is the art of saying no.

I win in Asia, give it back in London, then revenge-trade New York. My edge was never the problem — my calendar was. Most days, the best trade is the one I don’t take.

So the app reads your own history, finds the window where you actually make money, and lets you draw a line: trade only that. Every time you choose not to trade outside it, that “no” gets counted, priced from your own numbers, and kept.

The interrupt

The best thing I built isn’t a feature. It’s a pause.

Most of my damage never happened in the trade. It happened in the 90 seconds after one closed — the revenge click, the “make it back,” the finger that wouldn’t leave the mouse. So I stopped trying to resist it and put a number on it.

Recovery and Patience, scored against my own normal pace — not some generic rule. When I’m tilting, the Mind-Before-Money dashboard shows it, and the Post-Trade Ritual makes me play five poker hands before it’ll even let me near the platform again. Stupid? Maybe. It worked.

Money Follows Mind

Here’s what I had backwards for three years: the numbers are a result, not a lever. Win rate, profit factor, drawdown, the equity curve every trading journal brags about — I look at it last, on purpose.

Get the mind right and the money follows. It’s literally in the name. Mind before money — money follows mind.

Before the candles start dancin' — what's your edge on this one?
And someone who’d been there

I didn’t want an AI summary box. I wanted a mentor who’d seen my mess.

Coach Rambler knows my trades and my patterns. He greets me when a position opens, and he shifts into listening mode the moment I’m rattled. He’s been where I’ve been — so he’s warm about it. He will also not let me off the hook. Not a cheerleader. A mentor.

Wait — there’s a poker game in here?

Yes, I built a poker game inside a trading journal. I know how that sounds.

Here’s why it’s not a gimmick. Poker is the closest thing on earth to trading: incomplete information, real money, and a result that lies to you. You can play a hand perfectly and lose. You can play it terribly and win. Sound familiar?

It trains the one muscle that actually matters: judging the decision, not the outcome. It teaches you to fold — to sit out a bad spot and feel nothing. And when the twitchy finger wants to click a trade out of boredom, you deal a hand instead. Same itch, scratched. Zero account risk.

Boredom climbing — this is when you force trades
And a radio. Stay with me.

Focus Sounds, because boredom is a position too.

My enemy was never the market. It was the waiting. The flat hours where nothing’s setting up and the silence starts whispering that maybe this 1-minute candle is something. That’s when I’d invent a trade just to feel busy.

So I put lounge stations right in the dashboard — deep house, lo-fi, brown noise. Not decoration. They drop the heart rate and give the restless part of me something to do that isn’t opening a position. A calm trader who can sit on their hands beats a bored one every single day.

The invisible variable

Every trade had a feeling attached. I just never wrote it down.

So the app asks — the second a position opens, and again when it closes. Composed, focused, neutral, anxious, greedy, tilted. Two taps. Then it does the thing I could never do in my head: it ties my P&L to my mood.

Turns out my reactive trades were quietly bleeding me while my composed ones paid the bills. And the trades where I walked in composed and walked out reactive? That gap had a dollar figure.

If it’s your own money

Every loss has a face at the dinner table. QuantumLog is the system that keeps small mistakes from becoming the ones you have to explain at home.

If it’s a prop firm’s money

Over 90% of traders fail the eval — almost never because they can’t read a chart. They fail the rules. QuantumLog is the prop firm trading journal that shows you why you keep tripping the drawdown, and stops the 15-minute blowup before it starts.

Every other trading journal is a beautiful spreadsheet. It tells you that you lost.

You already knew that. QuantumLog is the only trading journal built around the person holding the mouse — your emotions, your pace, your patterns, your cage. Stats run instantly on your machine. The AI talks like a mentor, not a dashboard. And it’s built deep for MetaTrader, not spread thin across 700 brokers it half-supports.

“Why don’t you give it away for free?” Nope. I’m not an idealist — if anything, the market beat that out of me and made me a realist. I’ve got a family, a home loan, and goals I need money to hit. If this turns into something people actually pay for, it’s a second income line toward those goals. As the Joker put it: if you’re good at something, never do it for free.

Here’s the deal: I built this for me, and I’m going to keep building — new guardrails, new experiments, whatever I find that stops me bleeding. It all lands here. Like what I do? Subscribe. Don’t? Then don’t. No funnel, no fake urgency — just $17.50 where the polished trading journals charge $29–$49.

The honest FAQ

Questions you’re already asking.

Is it safe to trust a solo app with my data?

Fair question. Your trades sync encrypted and stay yours — per-user isolation, nothing sold, nothing shared. I’m one guy who refuses to ship junk, not a startup hunting for your data.

You vibe-coded this. Should I worry?

I did, and no regrets. I’ve built digital products for 14 years — I know what good feels like even if I can’t write the low-level code. Don’t ask me a technical question; I’ll fail it. Ask if the thing actually understands the problem. That one I won’t fail.

Why MT4/MT5 only?

Because I’d rather be deep in one place than spread thin across 700 brokers I half-support. The EA, the screenshots, the guardrails — they only work because I went narrow on purpose.

Can I stream or post my journal without leaking my trades?

Yes — flip on Streamer Mode and every symbol, price, size and screenshot is masked on screen, while your P&L and scores stay visible. It’s display-only: your real journal is never changed, and one click turns it back off. Built for traders who can’t publicly name assets, and anyone who streams.

What if I just want the stats?

MT5 already gives you a report. This isn’t that. This is about the version of you holding the mouse — your pace, your tilt, your patterns. If you only want a prettier spreadsheet, you don’t need me.

Why should I pay you?

You shouldn’t, if it doesn’t help you. If the cages stop one revenge trade, it’s paid for itself. If not, walk. No hard feelings.

Will you keep building it?

Yes — selfishly. I use this every day, so every interesting find I make goes straight in, and everyone on it gets it. That’s the whole model: I build for me, you get to come along.
